If you are going for sheer volume of recipes, then this would be a good purchase for you. If you want recipes, you will make, then skip. When Rachael Ray first started she was great because she used ingredients we all had access to, but increasingly she is dependent upon foodstuffs only available in urban food markets. Not only does the book contain tons of recipes with ingredients I can't get, but most of them seem like they are random assortments of foods she threw together because she had to reach the quota.

Rachael Ray 365 No RepeatsA Year of Deliciously Different Dinners A 30Minute Meal Cookbook Rachael Ray 9781400082544 Books Reviews
I bought this for my mom for Christmas. As cookbooks go, it has its strengths and weaknesses. I've never actually seen Rachael Ray on TV but my mom asked for a book of her 30 minute meals. Since many reviews talk about what they like, I'll quickly point out what we didn't like for your information.
There definitely are a lot of recipes in the book. My friend tried many of the recipes, and for her, a lot of them really take closer to an hour than to 30 minutes. Many also require lots of ingredients.
My mom was disappointed that the vast majority of recipes didn't come with pictures of the food - she really likes to see a picture of what she is going to make, because it helps her decide if she wants to make it or not. The book is actually relatively lacking in color and looks kind of like a dull textbook on the inside.
She also was surprised that almost everything in the book is like a one-course dinner. There aren't really things like side dishes or desserts. The title of the book does say dinners, but I think she was expecting things she could make for a dinner meal besides just main courses. This problem presented itself the first day she had the book and wanted to know what she could make with some left-over asparagus. The options were very slim for that kind of recipe-hunt - if you are looking to make something with a particular ingredient, you are likely to be disappointed unless you want to make a convoluted dinner for which it is only a minor ingredient.
The thing I love about Rachel's cookbooks is that I feel like they are for real people with real budgets who like to cook. You still get the occasional recipe with expensive ingredients that are harder to find, but the vast majority are simple, and taste fabulous! My husband always gets a smile on his face when I take this book off the shelf. I also love the variety in this cookbook, and that the recipes are all truly meant to be full meals. There are not a ton of photos in the book, but the recipe titles alone were enough to make you salivate! We've probably made at least 50 of the recipes in here, and have only found 1 that we wouldn't repeat. The chili-lime salmon over warm corn and black bean salad and the cold peanut noodles are now two of my absolute staples, and have been loved by my entire family - including a very picky niece and nephew. I highly recommend this, and her Big Orange Cookbook for two solid cookbooks with plenty of variety to keep you busy for months!
Rachael Ray doesn't need my review to sell her books, but I just need to put my 2 cents' worth in here. I bought this book on impulse one day at the supermarket, I have made at least a third of the recipes in it, and I have not regretted the purchase. I have bought it for at least three friends as gifts. One or two dishes have been nothing exciting, but at least the food was good. One caveat, though, is that nothing really takes only 30 minutes. I have watched her show and I don't know how she does it, but I can't make anything in under 45 minutes. Still, the food is good, and some dishes were just absolutely fabulous.
Here's the thing I have to remind the people who gave it a poor review no where does this book claim to be budget friendly, low-fat, low-calorie, gourmet, sophisticated, easy, or anything but what it is - it is a cookbook with a wide variety of recipes for every day of the year.
***One important note, and I wish RR would say this in her recipes, I only found out by paying attention to her cooking show one day, when she calls for chorizo, she means Spanish chorizo, which is VERY different from Mexican chorizo. I don't think the two are interchangeable and the results could be bad. I can't find Spanish chorizo near my house (I'm in Portland, Oregon) so I substitute andouille or linguica.
You may need to improvise when you can't find some of the ingredients, but that's part of the fun of cooking - I can't stand bell peppers, so I will substitute sun-dried tomatoes or just leave the peppers out and I still find her recipes really good.
There are not a lot of photos in the book and I am glad for two reasons more space devoted to recipes, and fewer resources used in printing shiny pages of color photos.
It's got a few recipes I might try but overall, I wished I'd made some different purchases. It's true there are no repeats, but for instance, she feels that swapping out the protein and changing 1 herb constitutes a new recipe. Also, I like to see how a recipe is going to look first. If it doesn't look appetizing to me, I don't bother making it and this book only has a few color pages in the middle. I like Rachel Ray and I loved her show 30 Minute |Meals but this cookbook wasn't really for me.
